In this study, plants of cucumber cultivars ‘AF-1661’ and ‘Slice Max’ were grown
for 60 days under 0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mM NaCl. We found highly significant
differences due to different concentrations of NaCl, between cultivars and by effect of the
interaction cultivar × NaCl (P≤0.01) for almost all variables (Table 1), except the
accumulation of Na and the ratio K/Na in the root, which indicates that there are
differential responses among the cultivars evaluated due to the different levels of salt
stress imposed on the growth medium.
