INTRODUCTION
Academic libraries have long been known for their strong
commitment to information literacy. With advances in technology,
a growing number of academic libraries have begun
using computer-assisted instruction (CAI), defined by Alan B.
Salisbury as ‘‘a man-machine interaction in which the teaching
function is accomplished by a computer system without
intervention by a human instructor’’ to deliver information
literacy programs.1
