A major supplier management strategy of Li & Fung was to utilize anywhere from 30% to 70% of factory capacity of suppliers, ensuring that at such a capacity, the company would be one of their important customers. Most times, Li & Fung would be their largest customer. Li & Fung also ensured that it did not use up the entire capacity of any manufacturer, to give itself flexibility. It did not want manufacturers to be completely dependent on the company. This strategy also enabled the company to gain exposure to new suppliers.
