In comparison with the C group, in the OVX rats the maximal
load and the fracture load in the tibial metaphysis were lower respectively by 53.6% (p < 0.001),
and 57.1% (p < 0.001). In the ES group, an increase of the maximal load and the fracture load in
the tibial metaphysis by 39.8% and by 52.9% (p < 0.05) respectively was noted as compared to the
OVX group. After treatment with glabridin and glycyrrhizic acid there were no changes in those
parameters in comparison to the OVX rats. In the OVX rats, the displacement for maximal load and
the displacement for fracture load in tibial metaphysis were higher by 11.1% and 25.5%
respectively, in comparison with the non-ovariectomized control group. Treatment with estradiol did
not affect the displacement for maximal load but resulted in decrease of the displacement for
fracture load by 10.2%, when compared to the OVX group. Glabridin and glycyrrhizic acid
administered to the ovariectomized rats caused increase of displacement for maximal load of tibial
metaphysis respectively by 14.4% (p < 0.05) and 17.8% (p < 0.05). There were no significant changes
with regard to the displacement for fracture load in the GL and GA groups, when compared to the OVX
rats. In comparison with the C group, the decrease of Young’s modulus by 74.5% (p < 0.05) in the
tibial metaphysis of the OVX group was observed. In the ES and GA groups, the Young’s modulus
increased by 11.8% and 84.0% respectively, while in the GL group
