Start the topic with a discussion on beauty around us. What is the most beautiful place they have seen? Where is it? Is it natural or man made? Is there an agreed ranking on the most beautiful creations in the world? Slowly move the discussion towards the 7 wonders of the world and how some of them are no longer around. Show them pictures of the seven wonders. Is there anyone in the class who has actually seen them? Ask the student to describe how they felt seeing the sight (either in person or in the picture). Ask students if they know where all of these are located. If a student thinks they know allow them to place a maker on the map of the world and then go over the locations of the 7 wonders of the world. For ELL students, I would make sure to use plenty of visual aids such as pictures and a replica of the wonder that can be held by the student, so they can put the pictures and words to a physical object.
