About the Program
USTC Scholarship is established for international students to study at University of Science and Technology of China.
USTC fellowship has two categories as USTC fellowship A and USTC fellowship B.
USTC fellowship A is designed for degree seeking students;
USTC fellowship B is designed for exchange students from partner universities.
Application Deadline
For degree-seeking students: 30 May, 2015;
For exchange students: 1 March, 2015 for fall semester;
1 September, 2015 forspring semester;
Coverage of the scholarship
Free tuition;
Monthly living allowance: Bachelor’s degree students: RMB 1,500 Yuan,
Master’s degree students: RMB 1,700 Yuan,
Doctoral degree students: RMB 2,000 Yuan;
Free housing arranged by USTC or monthly subsidy (RMB 900 Yuan) for self-arranged ACCOMMODATION
Qualifications for scholarship application
Applicants for USTC fellowship A must:
Be non-Chinese citizenship;
Be not awardee of Chinese Government Scholarship;
Applicants for bachelor degree studies must hold a high school diploma and be under the age of 35;
Applicants for master’s degree studies must hold a bachelor’s degree (equivalent to bachelor’s degree in China) and be under the age of 40;
Applicants for doctoral degree studies must hold a master’s degree (equivalent to master’s degree in China) and be under the age of 45.
Applicants for USTC fellowship B must:
Be non-Chinese citizenship;
Be exchange students from USTC partner universities;

Language of Instruction
1. Instruction Language for undergraduate programs
Applicants for undergraduate program (degree) with USTC scholarship must have adequate Chinese proficiency (at least HSK Band 6)
2. Instruction Language for Master’s degree and Doctoral degree programs
Most of the Master’s degree programs are conducted in Chinese, while Master’s degree programs in the fields of Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration and Software Project Management can be conducted either in English or in Chinese.
Applicants in other fields except the above mentioned ones that can be conducted either in English or Chinese must have adequate Chinese proficiency (at least HSK Band 4).
Most of the Doctoral degree programs can be conducted in English.
Duration of Scholarship
Duration of scholarship is depended on the duration of applicant’s program.

For degree-seeking students:

Applicants for graduate studies are encouraged to contact prospective supervisors prior to application and send the Acceptance Letter from USTC Professor(right click and save the attachment)to the Office of International Cooperation of USTC together with other documents.
2. Applicants must submit application materials to Office of International Cooperation of USTC by post mail or in person (application materials submitted by email will not be accepted). Application materials arriving after 30, May will not be accepted.
Required application materials include:
a. Application form for USTC Scholarship
b. Acceptance letter from USTC professor(Not for undergraduate students)
c. Two Recommendation letters provided by professors of applicant’s last school
d. Photocopy of passport (ordinary passport)
e. Notarized photocopy of highest degree certificate and academic transcript
f. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form(download in the attachment)
g. Proof of knowledge of English and/or Chinese;
h. Study plan
For exchange students:
