The frog is an amphibian. Any kind of animal that lives both on land and in water is called an amphibian. There are frogs everywhere in Thailand. We generally find them in the rainy season.
The frog begins its life in egg in water. When it leaves the egg, it is called a tadpole. It looks like a round black with a tail, but it has no legs. The tadpole swims about the pond.
When the tadpole grows bigger, it gets two hind legs, and then two front legs. The hind legs are longer and bigger than the front legs. Later, the tadpole loser its tail. Soon after this, it comes out of the water and hops about on the bank. It is now a tiny baby frog.
As you see, the frog spends the first part of its life in the water. But a full-grown frog lives both on land and in water.
