Chiang Khan is one of the places everyone is talking about. This little corner of Thailand is abundant with greenery, culture, and smiles of the locals. Step into Chiang Khan and smell the scent of the old wooden houses that make up this classic walking street.
Chai Khong Rd. is the name of a 3-kilometer stretch of road alongside the Mekong River. During weekdays, Chiang Khan is rather unanimated. On weekends however, it’s a completely different story. Chai Khong Rd. becomes the walking street of Chiang Khan, flooded with visitors who come here to relax and have a good evening.
Local arts and crafts, clothes, and of course food is sold along this stretch of road. You definitely won’t run out of things to see, do, or eat. We could list out every dish and dessert, but we won’t because we recommend you try a bit of everything!
Although this road is a short one, it will take you a while before you can visit every store this road has to offer. Each store is uniquely decorated and sure to leave an impression.
The locals also make Chiang Khan very homey to all visitors. Come take a little walk and experience local Chiang Khan.
