I would like to take a moment to address a situation that has come to my attention regarding the make-ready of our neighbors' house. Prior to their arrival I shared photos of the rooms, and they indicated that they wished to keep the walls of two of the rooms painted the colors as shown in the photos. I relayed this information to the current occupants, and advised the incoming family to contact GSO to let them know as well. I even mentioned that it might incur an additional cost to them when they leave post (to have the walls re painted white) and to ask GSO to clarify.
Weeks later, the property manager asked me to pick out paint, to which I replied that I was not authorized to do so, and again directed them to GSO for answers. It has apparently been said that I selected paint colors. I would like to make it clear that neither the Hogans (they had already departed!) nor myself changed the color of those rooms. As far as I know, they were not changed in color at all from the photos I shared with the current occupants. I haven't seen the rooms in person, so I don't know.
Again, I did not select any colors or indicate the rooms were to be repainted. I'm not in any position to do so.
The Hogans left the rooms painted as is, in the understanding that the new tenants wished to keep the colors.
I am dismayed to hear that the Hogans are being billed more in fees to have the painters come back. They were trying to be helpful. I'm also upset it is being said I picked new colors for the rooms, as I certainly did not.
