currently, a master's program in medical or health informatics is offered at four universities in the country, but at the same panel discussion at the HISA 2008 conference, it was pointed out that the master's program takes too long and that there are too few qualified staff at the ground level. those who are currently involved with nursing informatics are mainly selftaught and recognize the need to develop courses to ensure that information system which are put into place are beneficial to the nursing staff in their line of work, rather than something which is seen as being additional and work-intensive.
