(2). A Proclamation issued under subsection (1) shall -
(a). specify the proposal to be put to the People at the
Referendum in the form of a question which shall be
answered by a “Yes” or a “No”; and
(b). appoint a day for the taking of the poll at such
Referendum. Such day shall be -
(i). a day not earlier than thirty days from the date
of publication of the Proclamation;
(ii). a day other than a Full Moon Poya day or any
public holiday specified in the First Schedule to
the Holidays Act, No. 29 of 1971; and if, after
the publication of the Proclamation, the day
specified in such Proclamation is declared to be
a public holiday, such declaration shall in no
way affect the validity of anything done on
such day for the purpose of holding the
Referendum.
