The humming bird is an amazing animal. It can actually flap its wings back and forth seventy-five times a second! This fast movement helps the humming bird stay in midair while feeding from flowers. Its wings move so fast that they look like a blur.
Not only is the humming bird fast, but it is also very small, often measuring only two or four inches long. Hummingbird babies are usually not much bigger than bumblebees.
As tiny as they are, hummingbirds are not weak. They have adapted too many different kinds of climates. These title birds can be found all over America-from the southern tip of South America, north to the lands of the Arctic.
