The content of heavy and light metals in the analyzed wastes
was determined by FAAS in the Thermo Solar M Atomic Absorption
Spectrometer. The analysis was performed on samples of approximately
1 g in three replications. The samples were combined with
7 ml of HNO3 (65% v/v) and 1 ml of H2O2 (30% v/v). The samples for
the determination of light metal concentrations were appropriately
diluted. The modifier was 2% LaCl3. Digestion was performed in a
microwave oven in a closed system (Milestone Start D microwave
oven; temperature program e temperature increase to 180 C
(500W) for 10 min, temperature maintenance at 180 C (500W) for
10 min, cooling for 20 min). Certified reference material (BCR-482,
IRMM) was used to validate the analytical measurements. Metal
standards supplied by GUM and Merck and reagents of minimum
analytical grade were used in the analysis.
The limits of quantification and expanded uncertainty for the
analyzed metals are presented in Tables 1 and 2.
