2. Review of psychological models deployed
We have conducted a review of the impact of
computational thinking on our understanding of
learning as part of a wider discussion on the impact of
computational thinking on a range of areas of activity
in academic life [1]. This review was inspired by the
following organizing questions:
• What influence has psychological models of
learning had on the development of work in
computers and learning?
• What enhancements to learning are offered by
using computers in education?
We produced a taxonomy of the types of
psychological models of learning which have been
used to classify different approaches to e-Learning,
technology enhanced learning, or computer assisted
learning reproduced in Table 1 below:
