Traveling development
Station without traveling development.
Decorating
The design of the underground hall is unique. Massive poles are replaced with rather thin columns covered with corrugated stainless steel. Angular parts of columns on height of human growth are laid out by plates of the Ural stone "eagle rug" and sadakhlinsky mramorovidny limestone. In registration of a lobby light gray ufaly marble and shroshinsky limestone from Georgia has been used.
Traveling walls of station are revetted with ufaly marble (above) and a diorite (below). A floor is laid out by white marble, gray and pink granite. The arch of the central hall is decorated by oval niches in which the lamps and magnificent mosaic panels from smalt gathered in V. A. Frolov's workshop in Leningrad according to sketches of the national artist of the USSR Alexander Aleksandrovich Deyneki (1899 — 1969) are placed. All mosaics, from pink morning through blue day to red-brown evening and dark night, not only on plots, but also on picturesque running start are generalized by one subject — "Days of the country of Councils". When opening station of a panel was 35, but one, being closer to an old exit, has been lost because of construction of a station lock subsequently.
The underground architecture of station belongs to sign samples of "Stalin neoclassics" which, thanks to a harmonious combination of vanguard designs to more traditional decor, approaches international "art deco" here.
Except the sconces strengthened in arch domes the bases of the arches have hidden lamps — a favourite method of visual simplification of composition.
Not less important, than constructive achievements, were also innovations in facing: the architect Dushkin has entered stainless steel. Metal profiles have made at the plant building airships. It was twice symbolical as at the peak of domes have placed mosaic panels.
Alexey Dushkin has revetted the lower part of columns with the real semiprecious stone — rhodonite. It was cut thin plates and pasted on stronger basis — textolite.
