Antibacterial activity of seaweed extracts was tested by in vitro
study. In vivo treatment with the ethanol and aqueous extracts against
P. aeruginosa infection was performed for controlling the disease in O.
mossambicus. Ethanol and aqueous extracts showed potent antibacterial
activity. P. aeruginosa challenged fishwhen treatedwith ethanol extract
showed 70% survival up to 15 days of exposure while 80% survival was
achieved in the P. aeruginosa challenged fish treated with aqueous extract
(Fig. 2)
