While the local inhabitants harvest multiple produces from the wetlands, the reality shows that these resources are currently faced with the sharp decrease in number. It is indicated that the high pressure of population growth in the locality is one of the main drives for the increasing demands for construction and land clearance for agricultural production. Particularly, the mass deforestation has recently led to the significant depletion of the quantity of nutrients provided for the prone wetland systems. Additionally, the over-exploitation implemented at these wetlands destroys the regenerative capacity of some aquatic species. If these issues are not immediately tackled, the wetlands in this area will soon disappear. Therefore, the measures on how to effectively manage and conserve these rich naturally-endowed resources should be taken for the sake of a sustainable use of these wetlands.
