IMPORTANT NEWS:
Today Mika Lonnstrom and New Radiant SC has agreed with a mutual terms to terminate Mika's contract as a club head coach.
Maldivian champions started their 2015 season and AFC Cup run with a 4-1 defeat against Indonesian side Persib Bandung on last week. Mika was very dissapointed for the team performance but took the responsibility for the result.
-"My time here has been something I will always remember. The success we made last year was brilliant and it is something we can really be proud of. I think that we made some good progress with New Radiant and also the launch of a new academy system is something that will improve the organization in the future."
-''On the other hand I know the importance of the AFC Cup and the drive for success to supporters and all the personnel as well as the Board of the club. That is why I feel that now it's a good time for me to move forward to look for the new challenges. I know that I have done my part for the club and the team with best efforts and that is why I leave the club with really good spirit and great memories. We had a good and warm discussion with the chairman and my staff and I am sure that New Radiant will bounce back and achieve great results in AFC Cup. I wish all the best for the club and everyone around the team and also I am very happy that I've been able to experience Maldivian football from the top spot."
