You watched from the doorway to the lilac coloured nursery, your husband was by the wooden crib with your baby daughter in his arms. She had been acting up all day and when it was time for her to sleep, she simply couldn’t. You were worn out but you couldn’t sleep from her cries ringing out through the house. You leaned against the doorframe with your arms folded and smiled at the sight of your family.
“C’mon Bandit, please go to sleep. Mommy and daddy are exhausted!” Gerard groaned tiredly, just as worn out as you were.
“Try singing a lullaby to her.” You suggested, he looked at you with tired eyes but nodded before cradling his baby girl and started to sing in his angelic voice.
