NARRATIVE ESSAY : MY MOST MEMORABLE BIRTHDAY PRESENT
I’
m sure that everyone had their most memorable birthday present. I had my own too, of course. However, I had never expected that my birthday at the age of eighteen will bring such a memorable birthday present to me. Whenever I see my scar on my left hand, it reminds me of the mistake I did on my eighteenth birthday.
It all began with a call from my best friends on the night before my birthday. “
Jessy, guess why I call you at this time? Ten more minutes, you will turn into eighteen. Happy birthday!
Let’s go for karaoke
to celebrate
your big eighteen.” I was so excited that time and I didn’t think
much. So I just agree to go out with my friends without
considering my mum’s permission. I was
wondering, what kind of presents that I would receive after the karaoke session and what we will do after the karaoke session. There were one hundred questions in my mind and lots of imaginations that come through my mind. Without wasting any time, I went upstairs and turn my legs toward my room. I opened my big black cupboard, started to choose the dress that I wanted to wear. I put on my new dress that I chose and looked into the mirror. I tried to match the accessories that I have with my new
dress. I went down and get ready while waiting for my friend’s arrival. “Why are you wearing so
pretty? Y
ou are not allowed to go out at this time. It’s so late and very dangerous.” “No, mum! Please don’t stop me. It’s my big day. I just want to celebrate with my friends.” I heard the car sound and I knew it was my friends. I ignored my mum’s advice and ran o
ut of the house. There were four of us in the car, Amy was the driver of the night. Among the four of us, Amy was the only one that holds a driving license. On the way heading to our destination, a car passed by with a high speed. We all felt challenged, so we urged Amy to increase the speed of the car. Suddenly, the car lost control and we knocked over a tree. Everything was dark. When I opened my eyes, I founded that I was at a strange place. I looked around and saw my friends lay beside me. We injured badly and I realized that we were under the treatment of the hospital. I feel regret on what had happened to me and my friends. The car accident had left me a scar on my left hand. I will never forget the story behind the scar, the incident that happened on
my eighteenth birthday. If I can go back to the past, I would like to listen to my mum’s advice
and the car accident will not happen on me. The scar will never follows me for a life time
