Physical activity is consistently evidenced as a
major factor in obesity. Recommendations to
prevent weight gain in normal weight adults are
participation in greater than 60 min per day of
moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (Van Dyck
et al., 2015). While it is generally understood
that weight maintenance or even weight loss is
dependent upon physical activity, maintenance of
this level of activity is highly variable, with
many additional factors are involved in long-term
weight control (Doucet, King, Levine, & Ross,
2011).
