2.6.2.1. Determination of total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N). The Total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-N) values of samples were estimated by the method of FOSS (2002). The micro diffusion method was followed by distillation after adding MgO to the homogenised samples (Jeon, Kamil, & Shahidi, 2002). TVB-N values were estimated with a Kjeltec 2300 (Auto analyzer, Foss Tecator AB, Hoganas,. Sweden). TVB-N values were expressed in mg nitrogen/ 100 g fish sample.
