shows the cell
numbers of P. aeruginosa and E. coli determined at approximately
the detection level (TTD 2 h) and at the end of the experiment (24
or 30 h). In contrast to S. enteriditis and S. aureus, cell numbers of
E. coli and P. aeruginosa continued to increase after the TTD indicating
that these microbes are detected earlier in the growth phase
although more detailed growth curves would be necessary to
confirm this conclusion. Overall, the detection levels reported here
are in agreement with those described in previous work (106 to 107
cells/ml) with impedance technology in laboratory media.
