DIRECTV (directv.com/) is the world’s largest pay-TV provider with net sales of $24.1 billion in 2010. DIRECTV and related Sky brands have subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, other Latin American countries, and the United States. DIRECTV provides TV service, including video-on-demand, via satellite dishes (see Figure 11.2) to over 28 million customers as mid-2011.
