PNPs are in an ideal position to promote exclusive breastfeeding as an infant feeding choice and to support breastfeeding mothers; however, little is known about the amount of evidence-based breastfeeding and human lactation education that is incorporated into masters-level nursing education for pediatric NP programs (Hellings & Howe, 2004; Riordan, 2003; Spatz et al., 2007). This research examines the extent of the breastfeeding and human lactation content offered in PNP programs across the United States.
