First and last seasonal presence of Mnemiopsis leidyi in Narragabsett Bay
The first seasonal presence of Mnemiopsis generally occurred at stations near the inner margins of Narragabsett Bay (Fig. 2, Table I). The most common stations to have the first seasonal presence (n=4) were located at the mouths of the Providence River (station 1) and the Sakonnet River (station 13). Station in the central waters of the estuary such as stations 5-12, where flushing rates are higher (Abdelrhman, 2005) rarely (n=1 or 2) or never had the first seasonal presence of Mnemiopsis.
