Tannin rigid foams may constitute a new adsorbent source for the remediation of several wastewater effluents. Since their synthesis is not completely established under a strict protocol, reagents involved in this process may be optimized. According to this, the optimum adsorbent is produced with a minimum amount of furfuryl alcohol and for maldehyde and an intermediate dose of diethylether and p-toluensulfonic acid. This optimum TRF is able to removedyes, anionic detergents and several pharmaceutical compounds.Consequently, this can be added to the large list of capacities thesetannin-derived products present.
