A semi-structured interview guide was developed and used
during the face-to-face individual interviews. For example,
with regard to managers and management, questions such
as: ‘In what ways, if any, do you think that the NHS structure
has change during your working life in the organization
or profession? and ‘In general, when thinking about
management what do you see as the positive features of the
relationship between nursing staff and management and
what, if any, are the negative features of the relationships
between staff and managers?’
