Cyprus allows it's citizens to have duo-Citizeship.Cypriot citizenship is a birth right of every child born abroad to a Cypriot father. To children born abroad to a Cypriot mother, citizenship will also be granted, but only if both parents consent and/or if the child files for it after his 21st birthday.Cypriot citizenship does not influence military obligations either way. If you are a Citizen of the Republic of Cyprus or not, your military obligations are determined by who your father is and not what passport you hold.Cypriot citizenship gives you the right to a Cypriot passport, to work in Cyprus without formality, to have access to Cypriot government services and to vote (should you reside in Cyprus more than six months). It is an obligation of all Cypriot parents to register their children with a Cypriot Embassy or Consular office abroad, or to register them in Cyprus as Cypriot citizens. To this effect, the parents can do so until the child's 21st birthday, for a minute cost. Failure to do so by the 21st birthday, will cause the child to have to apply on his/her own and that will cost more in fees and be more time consuming.Should you be a born Cypriot Citizen, and have either lost your Cypriot documents and or have not renew them, you may do so. You have not lost your Cypriot citizenship.
