2.2.2. Determination of total phenolic content
The contents of total phenolics in samples were analysed by the
Folin–Ciocalteu colorimetric method. The appropriate extracts
dilutions were oxidised with Folin–Ciocalteu reagent and the reaction
was stopped with sodium carbonate. After 30 min incubation,
the absorbance of the resulting blue product was measured at
750 nm with a Perkin–Elmer Lambda 35 spectrophotometer. Gallic
acid was used as standard.
