Fig. 2 shows the images of the agar diffusion test for the thin films (8 4 4) and (4 4 4). As can be observed, the thin
film (8 4 4) (Fig. 2a) exhibited much higher inhibitory activity against E. coli than the thin film (4 4 4) (Fig. 2b) since micro-organism growth was not observed under the glass substrate. If this inhibitory activity is lower, then the glass substrate would suffer a displacement on nutrient agar due to the growing of bacteria below the substrate, as was noted in the case of thin film (4 4 4) (Fig. 2b). Similar behavior was observed for the thin films (4 41) and (4 4 2); due to their similarity, these images are not shown here.
