Comparing schools in 3 countries
The students spend too much time in school. We ask some student to share their ideas about schools in their countries
1. Marie lives in France. She said, my school year lasts for August to June with 4-7 week terms. We have 1 or 2 weeks for vacation after each term and we have 2 month vacation in summer. The school day in France is from 8 am - 4 pm with 2 hour lunch break. Students don't go to school on Wednesday afternoon but we attend school on Saturday morning. School on Saturday morning is very fun
2. Sanival is from Kenya. He said our academic year starts in June. The year has 3 terms and each term lasts for 13 weeks that feels like a long time. We get 1 month break after each term. The school day in Kenya begins at 8 am and ends at 4 pm. Students pay for school; it’s not free like some other countries. We wear uniform to school each day. All the uniform are the same color, so they're really boring. We study many subjects but I think the best part of school is soccer in the afternoon.
3. Linda lives in the United States. She said school begins in late august and ends in June then we have a 9 week summer vacation. We attend school about 180 days each year. The school day is about 7 hours long. I have 6 classes and 1 studied period. I like math best. Every night I do homework for about 4 hours. I don't have time to relax because my schedule is very busy.
Marie Sanival and Linda all think they spend too much time in school, but the ....... of time they spend in school is very different
