Okay so I’ve talked about this a few times before but in light of recent events and the fact that Vamp!Laura is becoming more and more and more relevant, I wanted to bring it up again, and add to it.
–I’ve said before that the fact that Laura is the only one who has two posters–aside from the fact that she’s the main character–is a really big indicator of major development, but not just character development. As absolutely important as that is, there’s something much bigger going on here to warrant two drastically different photos.
–I’ve also said before that in terms of body language, Laura’s pose in the second photo is very accepting. Her arms are spread, her fingers are fanned out and her shoulders rolled back. She’s accepting some monumental change about herself, which is more than likely an inevitable change that she’s come to terms with, because her expression is very calm. Her pose screams transcendence, transformation. it screams being turned into a vampire.
–I didn’t see this part earlier, but in light of recent revelations, mostly in the last few episodes, something else about her body language is very, for lack of a better term, “come at me.” It’s very “I’m open, take me, hit me instead, I accept it.”
After EP30, I’m convinced that Laura is going to sacrifice herself. Not to redeem herself in Carmilla’s eyes, but to either save Carmilla, or everyone.
And Carmilla will bring her back because despite everything, despite the hatred she feels and the problems they’ve had, she still loves Laura, and if she doesn’t bring Laura back, she will be absolutely alone in this world.
