It began, innocently enough, with a few Muscovy ducks. An animal lover began feeding them. The ducks were happy.
They procreated. Then came more ducks. And more.
And so here we are a few years later, with a battle most fowl, pitting neighbors tired of poop and ducks wading into their pools against Laurie Rudock, a veterinary clinic worker who established a makeshift bird sanctuary on her lawn in Fort Lauderdale's Poinsettia Heights neighborhood.
