Hi All first sig and first post.
So I took my new MK25 it to the range yesterday and after first shooting it couldn't figure out why I couldn't hit paper from 21' or 45' just blew my mind. I thought sights had to be really messed up or something was wrong with the gun...
A little history on me, no military background 54 eyesight not bad recreational shooter and not a bad shot own a couple other 9's a Glock 17 a Ruger P95 also a Colt 45 and a DE50 and can hit where i aim with all of them except the Sig
During one of the breaks at the range talked to a younger guy about how low it was shooting and said he was pretty sure it was set up with military sights and you are suppose to aim high. So called Sig this morning and they confirmed you don't shoot it like a Glock it has combat sights and if you were looking at a clock and want to hit center aim for the 12. so does that mean wannh it an intruder in the chest aim for the head?????
Evidently having never shot a Sig before i guess i just assumed you aim you shoot and it hits somewhere close to where you aim not 7-10" lower.
OK.... Here is where i need a little help before i switch this out for my nightstand gun. How do you learn how to shoot paper or an intruder aiming high. Is it something you just learn after repeated practice and how do you get use to switching back and forth between a gun with combat sights and target sights Customer service recommended I change out the back sight? they said they sell a #10 rear sight. Should I do this or just practice more first. I really don't want to change the gun since its a pretty unique gun.
Anyone out there with other recommendations to help me learn how to properly shoot this gun.
thanks
Joe
