The role of
D. repens MF in the development of dermatopathies in the
herein studied dogs is, in turn, confirmed by the disappearance
of the skin lesions in 7 out of 9 treated dogs. Worthy of
note is that the two dogs which still showed skin lesions at
the end of this study were referred with a previous history
of Leishmania infantum infection (Table 1), thus leading to
the hypothesis that the lesions were probably related to
leishmaniosis and not to the presence of D. repens.
