3.3. Data analysis
First, a descriptive statistics analysis was run to determine
frequency distribution. Second, an exploratory factor analysis was
used to determine the underlying dimensions of the important
safety measures in case of a tsunami occurrence. Third, Multivariate
Analysis of Variances (MANOVA)was used to determine differences
on perceived importance of safety measures in the event of
a tsunami during normal time and after the crisis and also across
tourists who stay at different types of accommodation. Finally,
multiple regression was employed to determine safety measures
that contribute the most to the overall beach safety.
