4. Discussion
In the present study, the presence of fibroids did not affect obstetric
outcomes among patients who had twin pregnancies. The size, number,
location, and type of fibroids were also not significantly associated
with adverse obstetric outcomes in the study cohort. A significant
increase in fibroid size was observed not only between 11–14 weeks
and 22–24 weeks, but also between 11–14 weeks and 28–32 weeks of
pregnancy among fibroids that were below 5 cm in diameter at
first examination.
