When these three requirements are imposed on a
single system, the images acquired by a regular linear
or matrix camera suffer from very low dynamic range
that typically prevent the image processing algorithms
from detecting the desired defects on the web surface.
The above-mentioned problem is solved in the
InsPulp# system by using Time Delay Integration
(TDI) technology [4] developed by DALSA, and an
efficient parallel processing algorithm for sub-images.
This system has been developed jointly by U.P.M. and
E.N.C.E. and it yielded to create the spin-off company
Innovation in Industrial Images Inspection from
