I. INTRODUCTION
bLOOD pressure is defined as the amount of force at
unit area which the blood exerts on a wall of a blood
vessel. The Blood pressure (BP) can be defined as the amount
of force per unit area that following blood exerts on a wall of
a vessel. BP has been a important indicator of health
monitoring in the medical care of patients. Especially, the
percentage of the hypertensive persons is higher than 15% in
an adult population of Korea. Hypertension is notorious for
increasing the risk of mortality and is often described as a
‘silent killer’ because of no prior symptoms. Therefore, BP
has to be measured accurately to apply for diagnosis,
treatment and prognosis of hypertension [1].
Present BP measurement devices can be divided in
invasive and non-invasive systems [2]. In an invasive method,
it is possible to measure the true pressure inside the blood
