Frequency of Injuries Due to Motocross
Motocross Racing and Too Many Injuries
Every time I watch another motocross event I see more and more injuries occurring. The motorcycles are faster each year and it seems the riders keep getting younger.
As a true fan of the sport I would like to see the sport go more main stream, but with the talent pool devastated by injury after injury I am afraid that the amount of injuries will deter some people from looking into the sport and becoming a fan.
In any sport there are risks of being injured and we asses these risks and determine if that activity is for us or not. Motocross with any sport takes practice and should not be taking lightly. Wear your protective gear and learn to ride within your limits and this will reduce your chances of injuries dramatically.
If you have ever been treated to a motocross race then you are aware of the excitement this event brings. Skilled riders jumping higher than some people’s homes and speeding around a track cluttered with other racers. Certainly not an event for the faint of heart but a must see.
