Chunnel
The Channel Tunnel (or Chunnel, as it is sometime called) was opened in 1994, and carries around eight million passengers a year between France and England. Most of the tunnel, 25 miles out of a total to 35 miles, is underwater. It is the longest undersea tunnel in the world.
