In this research, the thermodynamic database was established by
collecting data from critically reviewed literatures. The formation and
stable conditions of phase 5 and phase 3 were explored by thermodynamic
simulation. As for MgO-MgCl2-H2O system, thermodynamic
modeling using the geochemistry speciation code PHREEQC [18]
coupled with the database were conducted to model the reaction in
MgO-MgCl2-H2O system and the stability of MOC hydration products
in water and MgCl2 solution. Some modeling and experimental work
was done toMgO-MgCl2-NaH2PO4-H2O systemto explore the influence
of NaH2PO4 on MOC system.
