Altius Architecture designed this gorgeous seasonal Bala Park Island home, and with the site in mind, created it up against a granite ridge all the while keeping things sustainable and true to their distinct style. The residence is a comfortable 2,200 square feet, and at this medium sized square footage the architect’s focus was to keep the winters and summers as cool as possible. Providing heat in a flash and cooling off efficiently were important factors for being green and maintaining the property while away. Beyond all of the sustainable requirements, the interior is separated into two distinct areas featuring public and private spaces on opposite sides of the home. The main features are renewable woods and finishes paired against sharp contrasts of black, glass and metal.
