Only at four locations, the chloride concentration exceeds the maximum permissible limit for drinking.To ascertain the suitability of groundwater for any purposes, it is essential to classify the groundwater based on their hydrochemical properties. The TDS values in the samples analysed are presented in Table.4. The values show that groundwater in the area is mostly fresh except
for a brackish water occasionally and are suitable for drinking as per (WHO (World Health Organization)2004).
