Irradiates measured objects with radiation to measure the object
thickness (basis weight) from radiation attenuation in transmitting
through the object.
Beta-ray sensor can measure any measured object if the thickness
range is measurable.
Sources Appropriate for Measured Objects are
Selectable
147Pm (Promethium), 85Kr (Krypton), and 90Sr (Strontium) are
available. These can be selected according to measured objects.
High Accuracy Measurement
Beta-ray sensor simultaneously measures air layer and measured
objects in principle. The sensor, however, contains a compensation
function for air layer temperature to minimize effects of the layer and
an air purge mechanism to always keep temperature and density of the
layer. The sensor also contains an automatic compensation function for
the decay of radioactive sources and a calculation processing function
to reduce statistical noise of radiation. These and other functions always
provide stable and highly accurate measurement.
