2.6. Shelf-life determination
A hedonic grading of 2 was deemed to indicate the end of useful shelf-life as based on sensory attributes. This was defined as the time when the mean of the attributes fell to a value of 2 (King et al. (1986)) established a similar hedonic scale of l-9 for asparagus with a value of 6 determining the shelf-life of the product, i.e. one above the midpoint on the hedonic scale). Comparison of model to actual counts and sensory results was performed.
