Staphylococcus aureus is a worldwide cause of food-borne diseases.
This bacterium is the causative agent of intoxication characterized
by symptoms including nausea, vomiting, abdominal
cramps and diarrhea a few hours after the ingestion of food containing
preformed staphylococcal enterotoxins (SEs) (Balaban &
Rasooly, 2000)
