Job analysis (JA)
• It is basically analysis the job systematically to find out what is the job entails?
• Main objective : to avoid problems of what a person is hired to do and what a person is required to don on the job
(should be the same if not – boredom, frustration and stress)
• Functions of JA: try to find out 3 things : DPT
- Data, what to be used, analyzed and evaluated
- People, what type of people required for the job
- Things , what equipment to be used
• We do JA to develop
- Job description (JD) : title, what/why/when/where the job is (duties and responsibilities)
- Job specification: JS) : min, qualifications, skills, experience needed for the job to be done (=person description)
- Job evaluation (JE) to find out your comparative/competitive worth (how much your are worth)
