traditional slide with many bulletsIf you're tired of making and delivering presentations with slides like this, you'll be glad to know there's another way to structure and present using slideshow software like PowerPoint and Keynote.
In 2003, architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham created the Pecha Kucha style because, as their site states, "architects talk too much! Give a microphone and some images to an architect - or most creative people for that matter - and they'll go on forever! Give powerpoint to anyone else and they have the same problem." This method forces presenters to be concise (because each slide automatically changes after 20 seconds) and creates a brisk pace. No one could read all that text in 20 seconds, so this kind of slide just won't work in Pecha Kucha.
